Burn permits inside the City Limits are issued on a case by case basis by contacting Sylvia at the Annex Building at 956-361-3804 ext: 403. Burn permits outside the City Limits are issued by the Cameron County Fire Marshall at 956-554-6700. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is the governing authority on burn permits. You can call the Non-Emergency phone line at 956-361-3880 Ext 0 and request the extra patrol or request an Officer to come to your residence in person to request the extra patrol in person. You will need a list of names and telephone numbers of local authorized family or friends that will visit and maintain the house in your absence. If anything is found disturbed these people will be contacted.
A Police Report or Miscellaneous Report Costs is FREE and a traffic CRASH Report costs $6.00.
