The City of San Benito Cultural Heritage Museum, in partnership with the Mexican Consulate at Brownsville, is pleased to present Naturaleza/Expresiones by Primo Vega. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, February 21st from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the San Benito Cultural Heritage Museum located at 250 E. Heywood Street.
The exhibit will highlight the works by artist Primo Vega - a Mexican painter of impressionist landscapes and abstract art with 45 years of experience. His studies in architecture and music gave him the key to start painting with no other teachers than the great masters of the past. From his experience watching the stunning scenery of Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada, he started looking for abstraction in landscapes, emphasizing the importance and removing the superfluous. He mainly uses three techniques: watercolor, acrylic and oil in large formats and pastel for small format works. Besides having participated in more than a hundred collective expositions, he has several works in permanent exhibition in numerous galleries, museums, and institutions throughout Mexico.
The San Benito Cultural Heritage Museum is located at 250 E. Heywood St., San Benito, TX. Hours of Operation are Wednesday, 1 pm - 4 pm, Thursday – Friday, 10 am – 4 pm.
