Please take notice that Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino Jr. has reinstated the 12 a.m. (midnight) to 5 a.m. curfew in response to the recent rise in COVID-19 cases. The order goes into effect beginning at 12:01 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 1, 2021 and will continue until 12 a.m. (midnight) Friday, Jan. 15, 2021. All non-essential travelers must be off the roads during the curfew or face possible citations from law enforcement. Understand that this order is being issued to help minimize the spread of the Coronavirus and NOT as an infringement on one’s rights or freedoms. At this time, area hospitals are not only dealing with a surge of Coronavirus-related patients, they are also experiencing staff shortages, which may result in treatment delays should a hospital visit be needed for any reason.
