New police vehicles to boost safety and efficiency for community and officers

Latest News & Events Posted on January 27, 2025

The City of San Benito is investing in public safety with the arrival of six brand-new Ford Police Interceptors.

The new police vehicles are getting outfitted with cutting-edge tech and safety features to keep both our officers and our community safe. They’ll be hitting the road soon.

“The city’s older fleet was no longer reliable or cost-efficient,” said San Benito Police Chief Mario Perea. “We still had 2011 Crown Victorias and 2014 Tahoes on the road. These new vehicles are a much-needed upgrade.”

Mayor Ricardo Guerra added, “We’re committed to providing our first responders with the best equipment for safety. These new vehicles are just one example of how we’re investing in the future of our community.”

The new vehicles are designed specifically for law enforcement use, with heavy-duty suspensions, enhanced cooling, LED emergency lights, and much more.

Better equipment = better service = a safer city.
